Sound Meditation and the Magic of Intentional Frequencies

    Sound.  A powerful, invisible force with the potential to shift, change and heal our physical and metaphysical worlds. 

    We all understand innately, as spiritual beings having this human experience, how sound and music connects us, inspires us, and moves us. Sound creates a conduit for which to communicate at the soul and emotional levels where words cannot express or describe. Using sound with the intention to create healing, wellness and equilibrium in people is becoming more and more popular as sound meditation and sound therapy makes its way into alternative healing centers, yoga studios and community gatherings of all kinds.

    So, what makes sound healing? From high-tech/new technology experiments to ancient chants and texts, there is currently a fusion of ancient and future modalities combining to achieve these answers.  

How Sound Benefits Our Soul

    In my sound meditation work in groups and private sessions, I have seen people release and shift physical pain, emotional build-up, stress, receive inspiration or answers to problems, recall past memories as well as create a deep sense of peace, joy and wellbeing.  

    Tuning into the sound of a singing bowl or other ambient, natural sound creates spaciousness in the mind. Through this deep listening process, our minds take a rest from constant chatter, encouraging our thought processes to slow down.

    Sound penetrates our physical bodies at the microscopic level, working as a massage for our cells and nervous system.  There is an immediate, non-invasive effect on the body and auric fields, when done with pure intention and care.

   Instruments used, especially acoustic instruments made with healing intention like Tibetan Bowls and Gongs, are connected to earth’s source materials. These sounds contain harmonics and overtones that occur in our natural world from which our very existence is built. Everything that exists in our world, down to the atoms and basic building blocks of matter is vibration and frequency, just at different densities. When we tune into this truth and visualize this, we tune into the power we have to move and shift what is stuck. So many different sound sources can facilitate this process depending on the frequencies, tones and qualities that a person or group requires. 

Tap into Harmony

    We are constantly bombarded with stress, overstimulation of information and toxicity in our fast-paced modern world. This can lead to so much dis-ease and disharmony with our bodies, minds and spirits.  Sound healing sessions and meditations are one way to bring our resilient systems back into a harmonic state. In this state of peace and calm, we can tap into our body’s natural ability to heal itself.
