Hint: It’s Fun and Enlightening

Is it art?

Is it fun?

Is it a guiding process that opens the door for our souls and psyches to guide us?

A resounding YES to all three!

On the surface, SoulCollage® is a social activity usually done in a small group, in which we create small collage cards from images we select intuitively from magazines.

We can also use our own photographs or art pictures. In other words, it’s whatever you are attracted to or feel compelled to use.

The SoulCollage® session begins with a meditation or guided imagery led by the SoulCollage® facilitator. This sets the stage to create a sacred space and open a channel of communication with our inner wisdom and intuition to guide us in the artful creation of the cards.

On a deeper level, it’s akin to tapping into what C.G. Jung calls the collective unconscious, which is similar to the way dreams come to us. The power of the image reveals aspects of ourselves that are keyed to bring valuable information forward that will help us evolve as human and spiritual beings.

In her book, SoulCollage® Evolving, Seena Frost succinctly describes the evolving process of creating the cards this way: “Each card is a mirror of Self and Soul.”

Hear your soul, listen to your soul. When you do, the images that are created give you an opportunity to integrate the many parts of yourself, leading to what Depth Psychology refers to as individuation or becoming whole.

We incorporate both the light and the shadow sides of ourselves so we can utilize the cards as messengers with gifts for us when we “read” them.

We may also write a poem or, as I often do, write a Haiku about the card. We may write what we hear from our soul to complete the sentence. For instance, “I am one who…”

In the group, we create a safe community to share our insights, creativity and fun. In private, we can develop a collection of cards and use them as our own divination deck.

Often a card’s meaning shifts as we grow or circumstances change. Remember, each card is a part of you, designed to bless you with its healing power.

I am so thrilled with the self-unfolding results of SoulCollage® and look forward to having you in my class. Get ready to have some fun and discover hidden secrets your soul and psyche are thrilled to share with you.
